Date: Jan 17th

Time: 12:30-13:20

Room: DCHB 20-026 Seminar Room 1

We are starting an interest group for postdocs and students working with (or interested in) ion channels and transporters in the Kavli. The format is a monthly midweek lunchtime meeting (currently Wednesdays 12:30) where one researcher will present about 30 minutes on their current work, and how their techniques apply to ion channel/transporter research more generally. This will be followed by 10-15 minutes for questions and general ion channel chat, and we’ll finish in under an hour. NB we will provide tea and (instant) coffee, and everyone is welcome to bring their lunch.

We aim to bring together people with similar interests over a broad range of research disciplines and techniques, to exchange ideas, get to know each other, and share the diversity of ion channel/transporter research going on in the building. If you’d like to get on the mailing list, please contact Susanne at Susanne.mesoy@chem.ox.ac.uk, or show up to the Phase 1 seminar room on Wednesday January 17th at 12:30 for the inaugural meeting, where Susanne will present work on probing the function and local environments of ligand-gated ion channels using native mass spectrometry and functional assays.

Currently, there are two interest groups at Kavli Oxford. Should you wish to join the EV Group, kindly reach out to Suman Dutta. For those interested in joining the Ion Channels and Transporters Group, please contact Susanne Mesoy. All Kavli INsD based researchers considering forming a new group, may email their interest to info@kavlinano.ox.ac.uk.
