Vlad Vyazovskiy to Lead Pioneering Gordon Research Conference on Psychedelic Neurobiology
Kavli INsD PI Vladyslav Vyazovskiy is set to spearhead the inaugural Gordon Research Conference on Neurobiology of Psychedelics, scheduled for the summer of 2025.
The conference will delve into the intricate neurobiology of various psychoactive compounds, exploring their molecular, cellular, and behavioural aspects. Vyazovskiy's lab, renowned for its work on the psychological effects on sleep, recently published findings shedding light on the intriguing relationship between psychedelic-induced "paradoxical wakefulness" and neural activity. The conference aims to harness breakthroughs in crystal structures and compound synthesis, providing valuable insights into fundamental psychedelic mechanisms, with potential applications in drug discovery and clinical contexts.
Co-chaired by Vyazovskiy and Alex Kwan from Cornell University, the event promises to be a milestone in understanding the diverse facets of psychedelic neurobiology. Learn more on the conference website.
Since April 2021, Oxford University's KAVLI Institute for Nanoscience Discovery is proudly serving as a hub for research groups from seven different departments spanning both the medical and physical sciences, including Professor Vladyslav Vyazovskiy Group from the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics.
