Professor David Ray to Lead Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism

Professor David Ray has been appointed as the Head of the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (OCDEM), effective from 1st November.

In conjunction with this new role, he will also assume the Chair of the OCDEM Management Board. His leadership is expected to foster collaboration and advancements in the field of diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism, driving innovative solutions for those living with cardiometabolic and endocrine diseases.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the appointment, David emphasised the importance of strengthening connections with major interdisciplinary research centres such as the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, Oxford. He emphasised the shared commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals grappling with complex health challenges, reflecting the institute's dedication to groundbreaking research and interdisciplinary solutions.

Since April 2021, Oxford University's KAVLI Institute for Nanoscience Discovery is proudly serving as a hub for research groups from seven different departments spanning both the medical and physical sciences, including Professor David Ray's Group. Professor Ray is the co-Director of the Sir Jules Thorn Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute.
