Parisa Yavari Completes Herschel Programme for Women in Technical Leadership
Congratulations to Parisa Yavari, Lab Manager in the Carol Robinson Group, for successfully completing the Herschel Programme for Women in Technical Leadership — a national, six-month initiative designed to support women in technical roles to step into and thrive in leadership positions.
Named after pioneering astronomer Caroline Herschel, the programme equips participants with the skills, confidence, and networks needed for leadership. It combines in-person and online workshops, peer learning groups, and practical projects, covering topics such as leadership styles, workplace culture, negotiation, and influence, while fostering a supportive community of women leaders across the UK’s higher education and research sectors.
Reflecting on her experience, Parisa said:
“Taking part in the Herschel Programme has been an empowering and transformative experience. It gave me the tools, confidence, and network to develop my leadership skills and make a greater impact in my role. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside such talented and inspiring women from across the UK’s technical community.”
We wish Parisa continued success as she applies her learning and experience to make an even greater impact in her role at the Kavli Institute.
